Thank you! You too

I think it is something that depends on the region you are from. Both seem correct. Some say wish you the same and few say same to you.so its similar to these to phrases to use " you too " and "And to you". since "And to you" also means the same, so you cannot say its incorrect. Pros It's formal and appreciative. It's a simple way to return a "thank you" to someone who's already said it. Cons It's a bit boring to include and shows you haven't put much thought into your comment. It's quite generic and repetitive. So, "thank you, too" is correct and acceptable in formal writing.

Or by the canal. Or wherever you hang out with your friends. The second is "could be either formal or informal."

You, too and same here have different meanings depending on the context, but they generally appear in informal or spoken English to answer a wish or confirm an experience. You, too has two primary uses, and the meaning of the phrase depends quite a bit on punctuation. When followed by a period or exclamation point, you, too is used as an answer.

Thank you so much, and the same to you too.

1 1 1 1 1 You can use anything you like. But this is about customary behaviour, and "Thank you too" is not a customary way of acknowledging thanks, though we certainly may say it in some contexts. (Sixty years ago, when I was young, "You're welcome" was something those funny Americans said.
