Iris van Dongen maakt deel uit van het kunstenaarscollectief 'Kimberly Clark' (vernoemd naar het gelijknamige merk, dat onder meer afvalbakjes voor maandverband produceert). Het collectief ontstond in 2006 en bestond oorspronkelijk uit Ellemieke Schoenmakers, Josepha de Jong en Van Dongen. De Jong werd later vervangen door Eveline Van de Griend.

The depths of ambivalence in Iris van Dongen's imagery are difficult to plumb. Her elaborately worked drawings—dark scenes in which lone young women flit through thick forests—betray a Symbolist bent that ventures to the boundaries of kitsch, while throwing allusions to the pre-Raphaelites and Art Nouveau into the mix.
