An 1888 oil on canvas painting, Flowering Garden, by Vincent van Gogh (1853-90), the Dutch post-impressionist artist. Painted in July in Arles, southern France. A lesser-known work, it represents the artist's interest in calming garden scenes with flowers in the same summer he was also painting his more famous night café scenes with much more.
