The DB4 GT Zagato can't be purchased on its own, but instead comes with a Zagato-bodied version of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, which presumably will be road legal. Together, the two cars form the DBZ Centenary Collection, with deliveries of the DB4 GT Zagatos occurring first, beginning late in 2019.

The DB4 GT Zagato was born in late 1960 from Aston Martin's four-seater grand tourer. It was a lightweight version of the already lightened DB4 GT, clothed in beautiful bodywork built by Carrozzeria Zagato of Milan. The design of which was by newly qualified 23-year-old Ercole Spada, who had joined Zagato as an apprentice in early 1960.

The Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato is one of the most recognizable cars in the world even though there were only 19 originally made. The body was styled by Ercole Spada at Zagato and is considered to be one of the most beautiful cars ever.

This is DB4GT/0191/R and is one of the three cars built to the much lightened DP209 specification specifically for racing. After extensive racing during 1963/4 the car was badly damaged in an accident at Castle Coombe in 1966. Thankfully it's rarity secured it's future and the car was rebuilt.

In 1991, Aston Martin recreated the Zagato shape on several unused chassis numbers and they became known as the Sanction IIs. These cars almost perfectly replicated the original design except they were not allowed to be built with Zagato badges.
