With Alesia and (likely) the unnamed other station on Metro #4 you are a stop or two from Denfert Rochereau with its multiple lines into Paris (including RER B) which is just 2 or 3 stops from Chatelet les Halles. So while you are more than a ten minute stroll to the Seine.

Alésia, j'adore. Just back from a week staying on the Avenue du Général Leclerc off Place d'Alésia. Delightful neighborhood where as other reviewers have noted, large groups of tourists are largely absent. But, this is still Paris, there are still tourists. I very much enjoyed the beauty of the neighborhood and the residents of the quartier.

Rue de Vouillé. Rue d'Alésia is a major street in the south of Paris, which runs along the entire east-west length of the 14th arrondissement.
