The Aare Gorge is a popular excursion destination between Meiringen and Innertkirchen. Aare Gorge is narrow river gorge with interesting curved formations and icy blue water running through the middle. For a small fee, you can explore the gorge on an elevated walkway built into the rock walls. The Aare Gorge is usually combined with a visit to the nearby Reichenbach waterfalls.

The Aare gorge is up to 200m deep and in the tightest place just over one meter wide. The walk leads mainly along wooden planked paths, most of which hang directly above the water. The walk continues through the gorge and takes about 40-50 minutes to the other side. Some sections of it lead through tunnels.
