I just love the idea of starting a meal on the stove and finishing it off in the oven! This super cute Japanese poêle ceramic pan from Pod is perfect for just that! I made this delicious shakshuka over the weekend flavored with ras el hanout spice blend, sautéed onions and tomatoes with eggs cracked right into the sauce and finished in the oven.

Add the ras el hanout, caraway, coriander and 1/2 cup warm water and stir to thoroughly combine. Reduce the heat to low, cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Set the shrimp on top of the sauce, spacing evenly apart, and using a spoon, make shallow craters in the tomato mixture for the eggs.

Classic Shakshuka Ingredients: ¼ cup diced onion. 3 cloves of garlic, crushed. 1 tsp ras el hanout. ½ tsp ground aleppo pepper.. add in 2-3 cloves of garlic and saute for an additional 30 seconds before adding 1 teaspoon of ras el hanout, ½ teaspoon of Aleppo pepper, and ½ teaspoon of whole cumin seeds. Toast the spices for about 30.

Use a spoon to make an egg-sized hole in the Shakshuka. Crack one of the eggs into the hole. Repeat with the remaining 3 eggs. Then reduce heat to medium-low and cook until the eggs reach desired finish. Sprinkle the eggs with a little salt. To garnish, scatter whole cilantro leaves and drizzle olive oil over the dish. Serve while hot.
